Passion & Commitment follow-up
#1 Last blog I told you about Reid and Stacy and 11 years of postponing kids...no more! Daughter Jaidyn was born in late July and often accompanies Stacy to work. Good luck guys!
(Please, drop the theological arguments against that last phrase.)
#2 A couple who was on my mind as I wrote the blog has completed marriage counseling and the technoholic husband has voluntarily limited his "hobby" to only two evenings a week (down from seven). His wife appears very relieved and both seem more relaxed. (No, they do not read my blog and have no idea that they were a source of 'inspiration'.)
#3 Since the blog was written primarily for myself, I decided to take my own advice; confess and repent of wrong attitudes. My children were not brought into this world to make me miserable and my own inclinations brought about the bitterness that I harbored against them.
There is a huge difference between admitting something and confessing something. I admitted for years that I was a bitter parent but never got to the point of confessing it as a sin and then following that up with a plea for forgiveness and a change of heart. These last three weeks have been like a new life around the boys. They sense it and respond with love & smiles. Sure,
they're still naughty, messy and act like kids but I don't respond the way I did before. God has a limitless array of agents to bring about change in our lives and, ultimately, I'm glad for every one of them.
