When it rains....
Have you seen the movie "The Ring"? Remember the video with all the images, some just flashing by and others lingering? That would be a good way to picture how my brain seems to be functioning. On many days a 9-5:00 job really has great appeal; at least I could focus on a narrower range of duties. As it is, I feel like a walking appointment book. Even on a good day, I still have to keep track of needs, wants and schedules for the five humans in our household, plus two dogs and my sister in Paris for whom I have Power of Attorney. Remember: that was on a good day. On a bad day, (or week,) I may have to deal with things like car problems, finding things in this all of this household clutter (we are still not unpacked and never will be as long as we live here), trying to get work done on a house in another state, and endless paperwork as well as endless appeals for aid generated by Katrina, which tend to sap even the most emotionally stable.
During a rain storm, the water doesn't come down all at once, obviously! Such is life; one event follows another or one group follows another. So it's been "raining" a lot lately. If I appear less human and more like a "Dayrunner" it's just that I'm trying to keep my head above water. Noah weathered 40 days and nights of rain because he had an ark. My "ark" is a pen, calendar, notebook and the understanding and patient support of those around me.

Eve, thanks for checking in on my journal occasionally. I love that. Have you found this gem yet?

I've been reading it almost since the beginning, and I can't wait for each week's new installment.
