More About Blaise

We finally received Blaise's psych evaluation yesterday. (I wonder if it was extra late because I hung up on the Supervisor of Special Ed at the township office? But that's another story....)
Some of it we already knew and some was simply a confirmation of what we suspected. There was some info that was new, specific and welcome; primarily info pinpointing areas that Blaise is weak in. He showed "very superior" in reading and comprehension--a 3rd grader functioning at a 7th grade level--but "low-average" in the subgroup of written/verbal expression. He understands but cannot pass info on well, especially in writing. He was also "very superior" in conceptual thinking/math, but poor in fine motor skills and really stunk in the area of being able to function well on timed tests and do basic computations.

All of this, plus his totally wiggly behavior and inability to stay focused for more than a minute, fit into their categorizing him as ADHD. Now we just have to wait for the large group meeting in 3-4 weeks and then get an educational plan for him and implement it quickly so he can have a decent last 4 weeks of school and maybe pass the 3rd grade. :(
